Space For Rent:

Details: 15x15 metal map, set around an abandoned Core outpost station in the Core Prime ocean. The tides are at 20, as is solar. Winds are normal. Gravity is normal at 112, as is sea level at 75. Metal is normal for metal planet.

File size: 1.03 Megs map unzipped, 1.03 zipped.

Memory required: 32 megs, but more is always preferable.

Tools Used: Annihilator 1.5, Any Image, Godsmack. Saved in .ufo format.

The map is set to use the Metal AI, but I would always suggest a better, bigger AI. The Demon AI is well worth it, and can be obtained from TAMEC's utilities section.
The start positions are arrayed around the outer edge- four in the water at the north, south, east, and west positions, and 4 on land on the NE, NW, SE, and SW islands. All edges except for the ramps have been voided out, so the only way to get onto the islands at all is via the ramps.
The map makes for a better multiplayer map than a skirmish map. The AI sits around its starting position and doesn't put up a very good fight. In multiplayer, it's a tight, close map with the layout of the island in the middle. Very little building space on land. Suggestions would be either to go sea or air, air is preferred because it goes over the intervening terrain. Personally, my preference was to set up artillery on the center island and let loose on my opponents, using the four posts as cover and anti-air stations.
Granted, the idea of "fight for the center" isn't new, nor do I expect to be graded for a high mark of originality. It's a very regular, and in my opinion, unoriginal map, but it does prove to have a decent capability in multiplayer.

Thanks go out to Danielsan (Mutton, Robobeep) and Steve for helping with the betatesting.

As always, suggestions are appreciated.
